I have always loved painting and portraits as my schoolmates will testify as I used to ask them to model for me. I studied Archaeology and History of Art and have spent my career in advertising and marketing communications. I have always wanted to paint more. In March 2014 we built a studio over our garage so I could have a dedicated workspace. I am very fortunate to have such a wonderful space with natural daylight to work in. Why not come and see me in my studio if you are ever in the local area?
Why I love dogs?
I love dogs because they are fun, affectionate, energetic and joyous! Our own woofs are wonderful companions. Taking them out for walks and enjoying nature is a constant source of enjoyment. Just watching them running around, finding scents, having fun, chasing frisbees makes you forget about the worries of the world.
We have two Springer Spaniels, Charlie (10 years old) & Archie (3 years old). Though he’s younger Archie is the boss. He gets very jealous if I pet Charlie and tries to muscle in. He’s definitely the more needy of the two, whereas Charlie is more independent and does his own thing.
Dogs are such characters. They are so expressive. Like humans each one is different, no two dogs are ever quite the same. My aim is to capture the individual so you instantly recognise your ‘best friend’ in my paintings.

How I work?
I paint in acrylics, pastels, watercolour or pen and ink, the choice is yours. I work from photographs of your dogs (either supplied by you or which I take, depending whether you live nearby).
I strive to capture the vitality and energy of these wonderful animals in my paintings. As each picture is produced to order, you can decide the style – whether pastel or acrylic format – landscape or portrait and background – plain or landscape.
Even if your dear friend is no longer with us, you can still commission a portrait from photos to remember them.
